Position Title: Safety Manager

Compensation and Benefits:

·Salary range is $90,000-$110,000

·Benefits include bonus potential, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with 4% company match, equity shares, sick and vacation leave

Position Summary: The Safety Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and maintaining all aspects of site safety to ensure a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment. This This role owns total site safety performance, including regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Safety Manager partners closely with operations, maintenance, HR, and leadership to embed a strong safety culture across the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·Own and manage the overall safety program for the site, ensuring compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations

·Serve as the site subject-matter expert on workplace safety, health, and injury prevention

·Drive a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, engagement, and accountability

·Lead regular workplace safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; identify hazards and implement corrective and preventative actions

·Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and reports

·Lead investigation of safety incidents, near misses, and injuries

·Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence

·Develop, implement, and maintain safety training programs for all employees, including onboarding and refresher training.

·Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety communications.

·Ensure employees understand safety policies, procedures, and expectations.

·Track and analyze safety metrics (e.g., incident rates, near misses, audits).

·Identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and improve safety performance.

·Support site-wide initiatives related to ergonomics, machine safety, lockout/tagout, and emergency preparedness.

·Lead the company’s emergency response team and develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans.

·Lead and support the employee-based safety committee to encourage engagement and ownership of safety initiatives

·Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Food Safety, and HR to integrate safety into daily operations.

·Support capital projects, new equipment installations, and process changes with safety assessments.

·Report regularly on safety performance, risks, and improvement plans to Leadership.

·Recommend and evaluate safety equipment and supplies in coordination with procurement.

·Uphold the highest standards of food safety and product quality by adhering to allergen controls and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs); promptly report food safety or quality concerns.

·Foster a positive culture of respect and teamwork by exemplifying Bobo’s values: Collaborative, Adaptable, Passionate, Winning, and Fun-Loving.

·Perform other related duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibility: NA

Qualifications / Education / Experience Desired:

·Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field

·3–5+ years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).

·Familiarity with Food Safety/GMP requirements, ISO 45001/14001, ESG concepts

·Understanding of manufacturing concepts such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM

·Formal training/education in OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene and risk assessment techniques

Required Skills / Abilities:

·Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and policies.

·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite software, especially Word and Excel.

·Ability to work collaboratively within small and large, diverse teams

·Comfortable with multi-tasking in fast-paced and dynamic work environment

·High level understanding of Root Cause Analysis techniques and Incident Investigation

·Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred

 

Supervision Given:

·This position will report to the VP of Operations and will work closely with the Directors of all departments within the Operations Team.

·The position holder is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight at times, able to confidently handle situations on their own

Work Location: This position is required to work onsite in our Loveland, CO facility

Travel Required: Minimal. May be required to attend offsite trainings, infrequently
