Position Title:  Regional Sales Manager

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range is $80k-$100k
  • Benefits include bonus potential, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with 4% company match, equity shares, sick and vacation leave

Position Summary: The Regional Sales Manager is a key leadership position for the company and is accountable for driving company revenue, ensuring gross margin goals are met and building the strength of the Bobo’s brand focusing on regional accounts throughout the US.  This role has both regional HQ, broker management, and retail activation responsibilities. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong professional sales skills, acumen, interpersonal skills, and the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders. Candidate must have a strong track record of success in building emerging companies, be able to work in a team environment, and be passionate about meeting stretch objectives with a high sense of urgency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building relationships and meeting live and virtually with Regional HQ Accounts as assigned including but not limited to Conventional, Natural, Specialty, and Distributor.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve/exceed sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base through new and expanded distribution opportunities adhering to trade parameters
  • Maximize trade efficiency and ensure promotional programing and in-store activation is in place to support and sustain business development.
  • Complete account level HQ reporting as requested; keeping all reports up to date in real-time
  • Understand data analysis and possess the ability to identify and communicate retailer specific opportunities
  • Comprehend category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and category opportunities and position them against competitors through proposals and excellent presentation skills
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with our brokers, distributors and retailers
  • Primary point of contact for retail locations for sales and merchandising within assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the retailer, distributor sales-force, broker sales teams
  • Call on accounts on an ongoing basis to review in-store priorities
  • Execute all chain promotional activities at store level – which includes selling & setting distribution, securing displays, maintaining proper levels of inventory, planogram execution, and point of sale distribution 
  • Implement POS, and secondary placement opportunities using tools provided by the brand to maximize brand potential and eliminate out of stock situations 
  • Daily/weekly communications to Senior Directors to include successes, competition trends, deals, product introductions, and consumer relations.

Supervisory Responsibility: Intimately manage our broker partners in the natural channel.

Qualifications / Education / Experience Desired:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Area Sales Manager role within the natural food industry with experience working with Natural Independents, INFRA, NCG, and Presence Marketing.
  • Possess key functional understanding across sales, trade management and category management
  • Prior experience with brand development and systems to support aggressive business growth
  • Key leadership characteristics: integrity, leadership/drive for results, collaborative, flexible, strong communicator
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, verbal and written communications skills
  • Bachelor’s degree; business and marketing majors preferred.
  • Hardworking, persistent, and dependable.
  • Positive and enthusiastic.

Language / Mathematical / Reasoning Ability:

  • Candidate must be a proficient user in POWERPOINT, WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and SPINS/Nielsen.

Supervision Given:

  • This position will report to the Senior Director of Sales.
  • The position holder is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight at times, able to confidently handle situations on their own.

The employee may be required to travel, must drive a motor vehicle, and effectively communicate using telephone and email.

Travel Required:

  • Must be willing and able to travel approximately 50% of time.
  • Role is Remote but with access to a major airport.
