Position Title:  Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range is $60,000 - $70,000
  • Benefits include bonus potential, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with 4% company match, equity shares, sick and vacation leave

Position Summary:

The FSQA Supervisor will assist in the development, implementation, and sustainability of food safety and quality programs for Bobo’s Oat Bars. This position will also oversee the QA lab and technicians to ensure proper communication, and all objectives are met.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop QA Technicians
    • Ensure standardization of work
    • Streamline lab activities based on risk and resources
    • Train and onboard new QA employees for standard work
    • Create SOPs where needed
    • Ensure adequate supplies are provided
  • Develop, manage, implement, and improve prerequisite programs as specified by the Food Safety Plan
    • Environmental monitoring program
    • Internal audit program
    • Food safety team member
    • CAPA administrator
    • Ingredient, in-process, and finished product quality checks
    • Calibration program
    • Self-Inspection Audit
    • Hold Program Management
    • Glass and Brittle Plastic
    • Clean Swab Program
  • Conduct routine trainings with all employees regarding quality and food safety
  • Ensure personnel follow GMPs and good hygiene practices
  • Ensure accuracy of production reports and HACCP Documentation as the PCQI
  • Assist in the implementation of SQF as Back-up Practitioner

 Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise QA Technicians, with the direction of the FSQA Manager.

 Qualifications / Education / Experience Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology or related field or 2+ years’ experience working in a food quality related role
  • Strong technical food background (food chemistry, cereal chemistry, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience with FDA and other third-party auditing entities a plus
  • HACCP and PCQI certified

 

Language / Mathematical / Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be able to accurately document information in a timely manner
  • Must be able to write and speak, both clearly and effectively
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong math skills required

 Supervision Given:

  • This position will report to the FSQA Manager and work very closely with the Production Supervisors
  • This position will serve as the backup for the FSQA Manager, and vice versa
  • This position is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight at times, and be able to confidently handle situations on their own.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include looking at a computer screen and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be required to travel, must drive a motor vehicle, and effectively communicate using telephone and email.

Travel Required: Will be required to go off-site for occasional trainings.
