Position Title: Production Manager - 2nd Shift
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range is $90,000 -$110,000 + 7.5% Shift Differential
- Benefits include bonus potential, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with 4% company match, equity shares, sick and vacation leave
Position Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for leading the entire production area, overseeing production shift supervisors, and driving operational results. This role ensures optimal production performance through inter-department communication, exceeding quality and safety standards, and maintaining compliance with food safety regulations (SQF). In this role, the position holder will serve as the “voice of the production floor” for the Operations management team. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. The Production Manager will ensure alignment with daily management systems while upholding the highest standards in safety and quality.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all production shift supervisors across shifts throughout the week
- Build and foster a safety culture on the production floor
- Ensure full compliance with local regulations, company policies, and best practices, particularly in safety, health, environmental sustainability, and quality management.
- Serve as the facilitator of the Food Safety Program for the Production Floor according to all SQF guidelines
- Assure personnel follow GMPs & good hygiene practices
- Ensure product quality standards are met and that quality verifications are complete and accurate
- Work directly with Production Planning to ensure production schedule is met
- Assist in the troubleshooting and alternate planning process as issues arise
- Direct responsibility for managing labor, overtime, and production efficiencies
- Lead and coach teams through solving problems and monitoring of key operating processes and equipment utilizing lean manufacturing and six sigma methodology
- Drive the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process to ensure timely identification of issues and implementation of corrective actions to improve KPIs
- Create plans for employee mentoring and training
- Coordinate shift-to-shift communication, working closely with fellow Production Manager and Production Planner
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to
- Assure all production line costing is up to date and verified
- Review manufacturing processes and implement continuous improvement practices to meet efficiency targets
- Manage and reduce downtime by working closely with maintenance & cleaning crews
- Promote and instill a sense of ownership over equipment and processes within the team
- Provide ongoing coaching and development to team members, ensuring mastery of daily management systems, ownership, and excellent performance outcomes
- Responsible for maintaining department 90-day plans and reporting out KPIs to teams on a regular basis
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders and other departments through effective communication, a positive attitude, and collaborative problem-solving to achieve business objectives

- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position will have direct supervision responsibilities for production supervisors and production floor associates
- Must be available to Shift Supervisors at any time that production is scheduled, which includes off hours and weekends
Qualifications:
- Must have strong leadership skills with ability to maintain neutrality
- Strong problem-solving skills following a formal process
- Self-starter and possess a positive attitude, able to influence others

- Familiar with baking equipment and processes
- Experience with implementing lean manufacturing practices
Education / Experience Desired:
- High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years prior experience in a similar role and environment
- Knowledge of natural products industry a plus
- Combined experience in quality and management preferred
- Must be familiar with a production environment under SQF and OSHA guidelines
- Experience with equipment maintenance programs
- Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite software, especially Word and Excel.
- PCQI & HACCP Certified a plus
- Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing
Language / Mathematical / Reasoning Ability:
- Must be able to write and speak, both clearly and effectively.
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Must be comfortable working with KPI’s and spreadsheets
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong math skills required
Supervision Given:
- This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing
- The position holder is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight at times, able to confidently handle situations on their own
- The backup for the Production Manager is other Production Managers; They will serve as backups for one another.

Location: On-site at our headquarters located in Loveland, CO
Travel Required: Limited – May be asked to go off-site (locally) for equipment training, safety/food safety training and other short duration items. No overnight travel expected but may be required in rare circumstances.
