Position Title: Maintenance Technician Lead – 2 shift

Compensation and Benefits:

·       Wage range is $35.00 - $39.00

Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician Lead is a senior, hands-on maintenance role responsible for advanced troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and shift-level execution of maintenance activities. This position serves as the technical and functional lead for the maintenance team during assigned shifts, combining expert-level maintenance skills with clear accountability for shift-level performance.

The Maintenance Technician Lead works directly on equipment while coordinating, prioritizing, and directing maintenance work to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role carries shift-level accountability for preventive maintenance completion and work quality, while modeling Bobo’s values and reinforcing standards for safety, food safety, and professionalism.

This position is not a people manager but is empowered to make real-time decisions that protect safety, equipment, and production.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Safety, Food Safety & Quality 

·       Model, enforce, and actively promote all safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices. 

·       Immediately stop production when equipment or safety risks are identified. 

·       Uphold the highest standards of food safety and product quality, including allergen controls, GMPs, and SQF/HACCP requirements. 

·       Identify, correct, and escalate safety, food safety, or quality risks in real time.Shape 

Technical Leadership & Troubleshooting 

·       Serve as the primary technical authority and lead troubleshooter during assigned shifts. 

·       Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-related equipment failures. 

·       Provide hands-on technical support during production runs, changeovers, and startups. 

·       Lead equipment testing, calibration, validation, and post-repair verification to ensure reliable operation.Shape 

Maintenance Execution & Shift Accountability 

·       Execute and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. 

·       Assign, prioritize, and reassign maintenance work during the shift based on safety, production, and equipment needs. 

·       Ensure shift-level PM completion and work quality meet established standards. 

·       Verify repairs and PMs are completed correctly, safely, and documented accurately. 

·       Hold peers accountable to workmanship, documentation, and safety expectations. 

Leadership Without Direct Supervision 

·       Act as the maintenance lead for the shift, coordinating technician efforts and responding to production needs. 

·       Provide real-time coaching, guidance, and technical direction to Maintenance Technician I and II employees. 

·       Support training, onboarding, and cross-training efforts by sharing knowledge and best practices. 

·       Escalate performance, conduct, or capability concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor as appropriate.Shape 

Contractor Oversight 

·       Direct and coordinate contractor work during assigned jobs. 

·       Ensure contractors follow all site safety, food safety, and operational requirements. 

·       Inspect completed contractor work and sign off on job completion in coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor.Shape 

Documentation, KPIs & Systems 

·       Ensure accurate and timely completion of CMMS work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment history. 

·       Maintain accountability for shift-level maintenance KPIs, including but not limited to: 

·       Preventive maintenance completion 

·       Work quality and first-pass repair effectiveness 

·       Downtime response and resolution during the shift 

·       Provide input on PM optimization, spare parts, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives.Shape

Qualifications / Education / Experience Desired:

·       High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree preferred

·       Minimum 4–6 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing

·       Advanced proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC troubleshooting

·       Strong understanding of preventive maintenance methodologies and reliability principles

·       Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals

·       Experience working in FDA-, SQF-, or HACCP-regulated environments

·       Demonstrated ability to lead by influence and make sound decisions under pressure

·       Proficiency with CMMS systems and basic Microsoft Office applications

·       Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and/or holidays

 

Supervision Given:

·       This position will report to the Production Manager

·       Must be able to stand for shift length up to 12 hours unless otherwise specified (Constantly)

·       Must be able to tolerate exposure to peanuts and tree nuts (coconut, almond, and pecan) as well as other materials (Frequently)

·       Must use hands to grasp, grip, pinch and handle objects; lift and reach with hands and arms (Frequently)

·       Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (Frequently) and up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)

·       Must be able to exert a push/pull force of up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)

·       Required to walk and climb steps (Occasionally)

·       Must balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch (Occasionally)

·       Must be able to operate in congested areas (Occasionally)

·       Must be able to operate maintenance tools and equipment

·       Must be able to work from a scissor/articulating lift at heights up to and including 30 feet

 

Work Location: This position is required to work onsite in our Loveland, CO facility

 

Work Environment:

·       Environmental temperature varies between hot and cold conditions

·       Noise level is moderate; hearing conservation program not required, but provided upon request

·       Employees work on or near heavy machinery and rapidly moving equipment
