We get it, you don't have time for breakfast. Either you're rushing out the door with the kiddos or you're trying to make your own deadlines, and breakfast isn't on the top of your list. But it should be.
According to nutritionists, breakfast kickstarts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout your day. Many studies have attributed eating breakfast to better memory and concentration, lower levels of LDL cholesterol and a lower risk of diseases[1]. But all breakfasts aren't created equal.
Since breakfast is such a great way to stock up on those important vitamins and nutrients before your big day, you'll want to be choosy on what goes in your body. According to nutritionists, you'll want to go for breakfast foods with higher fiber and complex carbohydrates, like a bowl of oatmeal. Or, say... a Bobo's Oat Bar.
Not all calories are created equal. Whole grains like oats provide long-lasting, slow burning sources of fuel and helps manage appetite. Processed and refined foods are stripped of most of their nutritional value and act as 'empty calories,' giving you a short spike, but leaving you hungry for more!
Whole grain oats, like those use in Bobo's, are slow-burning, long-lasting and protein rich.
Whole grain oats are also packed full of antioxidants, fiber, and can contribute to a lower blood-pressure as well as a healthier gut. With 17 vitamin and minerals, we'd argue that oats are a superfood. [2]
This month, we're challenging ourselves - and you - to have a better breakfast. This doesn't necessarily mean you need to sit down and make an elaborate meal, but that you should be intentional in what you're grabbing before you rush out the door. Be mindful and use this month to step that breakfast game up!
