Training Specialist

Position Title:  Training Specialist - 2nd Shift

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Wage range is $19-$23 per hour
  • Benefits health, dental and vision insurance, 401k with 4% company match, sick leave

Position Summary: This position requires the individual to have knowledge and the ability to develop, write and deliver training to all existing and new employees by way of standard operating procedures for the production area.  Must be a good (and patient) listener.  Ability to approach training strategically.  Encourage engagement with employees.  The trainer will function as both a subject matter expert (SME) and resource on rule, processes and procedures.  Must be organized and have the ability to maintain all training records electronically. Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write and deliver new employee orientation and on-the-job training
  • Collaborate with the company’s management to identify training needs and schedule appropriate training sessions for employees
  • Develop systems to monitor and ensure employees are performing their responsibilities according to the training
  • Ensure the compliance of the company’s employees to cooperate with standard operating procedures during training sessions and once in production mode
  • Provide support and mentoring for new employees while conducting an evaluation and identifying sections where improvements are needed
  • Maintain records and training schedules
  • Ability to lead training classes independently and with minimal supervision

Marginal Duties Performed Less Frequently:

  • Basic filing and clerical

Qualification Summary:

  • Regular, consistent attendance is required
  • Able to effectively communicate and work with all employees
  • Thorough understanding of training and development
  • Tactful conflict resolution
  • Medium to high computer skills including knowledge of Office products.  Training documents will be retained electronically.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English is an essential function of the job.  Training materials and documents are all written in English
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is highly desired

Education / Experience Desired:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Some college or continuing education
  • Experience with writing procedures and maintaining electronic records
  • Experience with teams, facilitation and group dynamics

Language/Mathematical/Reasoning Ability:

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is highly desired
  • Basic mathematical skills in weights, temperatures, times and general numbers

Supervision Given:

  • Minimal supervision. Must be able to work independently.

General manufacturing working conditions exists.  Exposures include, but are not limited to temperature changes, noise, dust, and moving equipment and machinery.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, use hands to grip and handle objects; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include looking at a computer screen and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to travel, drive a motor vehicle, and communicate using telephone and email. 

Travel Required:

This position will be based in Loveland, but must be able to travel to all Bobo’s facilities in Boulder and Loveland as needed.
